What’s New At Releem - September 2024

September 24, 2024 • WRITTEN BY ROMAN AGABEKOV
September’s was anything but ordinary for us at Releem! We’ve been hard at work rolling out some awesome new features, we also took things to new heights – literally. We teamed up with Percona founder Peter Zaitsev and GeeksGoPeaks group to summit Mt. Ararat 🗻 (yep, 5,137 meters up!) and proudly planted the Releem flag at the top. Read more about our adventure here.

Community Contributions

We're always collecting issues and feature requests on our GitHub. Here's where you can contribute:

  • Issues – If you encounter any problems or bugs, report them here.
  • Feature Requests – Have an idea to make Releem even better? Share your suggestions here.

Updates to Releem Portal

We’ve rolled out some powerful enhancements to the Portal this month:

  • Automatic SQL Query Optimization – is now available for Premium users and now supports MySQL/MariaDB and Percona. Releem now analyzes your top 100 queries and slowest 100 queries each week, identifies inefficiencies and provides actionable index recommendations. You’ll receive weekly emails with these actionable suggestions. Once you apply them, Releem tracks the performance gains and follows up with a report on your results. Read more about new feature.
  • Applying MySQL Configuration Without Restart – Simply click Apply and choose how to implement the configuration changes. Releem handles the rest. Releem applies dynamic MySQL variables automatically and prepares changes to configuration files. And when you have variables that require a restart, you can apply it when convenient simply by restarting the database service.
  • Extended Max Query Length Setting – For users handling large queries, we’ve expended the max query length setting to better accommodate your needs. If you see truncated queries in the Query Analytics, simply increase this setting.
  • New Alerts for Unusual Database Restarts – Stay informed with automatic email notifications when any unusual server restarts are detected by Releem.

Updates to Releem Platform

  • Query EXPLAIN Analysis – Releem now analyzes the EXPLAIN output of your queries to identify inefficiencies and recommend precise index improvements.
  • Post-Optimization Tracking – After applying query optimizations, Releem measures the impact, giving you insights into your performance gains.

Updates to Releem Agent

  • Fixed Query Analytics Data Collection Bug – Resolved an issue where query analytics data would not load due to a table scan error Issue #336.
  • Added a collection of Query Examples for Query Optimization for MySQL 8.x.
  • Added a collection of EXPLAINs for SQL Query Optimization for MySQL 8.x. Releem collects EXPLAINs for to 100 queries and top 100 slowest queries.

Upcoming Event
