What’s New At Releem - August 2023

AUG 31, 2023 • WRITTEN BY ROMAN AGABEKOV
As we navigate through September, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the updates and improvements we've made to Releem over the past month.

In August, we were been busy making Releem better for you. We ironed out bugs for a smoother experience, optimized our backend for greater stability, and updated our documentation for easier navigation.

We even refreshed our homepage, saying goodbye to our iconic "sad engineer" image. While I personally loved the image as a representation of whom we aim to assist, we felt it was time for a fresh new look.

Rising Traction and Engagement

Our community is growing, and it's all thanks to you! We're excited to share some positive trends that reflect how our community is gaining traction and engaging with Releem.

Our user base has expanded to 2.3K, marking a 7% increase from last month. Additionally, our Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) has seen an 18% uptick month-on-month.

But it's not just about the numbers – it's about how you're interacting with Releem. We've noticed that the usage of Releem's Recommendations feature has surged by 21% month-over-month, and Health Check usage rates are up by 9%. These increases indicate that you're finding value in these features, and that's incredibly rewarding for us to see.

Community Contributions

We're actively collecting both issues and feature requests on our GitHub. Here's where you can contribute:

  • Issues – If you encounter any problems or bugs, report them here.
  • Feature Requests – Have an idea to make Releem even better? Share your suggestions here.

Updates to Releem Portal

We understand the importance of accessibility and usability across different platforms and devices, which is why we've made some key updates to the Releem Portal:
  • Firefox Compatibility – We've resolved issues that were preventing the Releem Dashboard from functioning properly on Firefox. Now, you can enjoy a seamless experience regardless of your browser choice.

  • Mobile Version Improvements – While we're still working on making the Releem Portal fully adaptive, we've made fixes that allow for a more user-friendly experience on mobile devices.

Updates to Releem Platform

We're not stopping at just the portal – we've also made significant improvements to the Releem Platform itself:

  • MySQL 5.5 Support – We've fixed a bug related to innodb_max_dirty_pages_pct that was preventing the application of configurations for MySQL 5.5. Yes, you read that right—we do support MySQL 5.5! This fix also addresses issues with automatic detection and the application of configurations, which in turn improves the accuracy of the unapplied recommendations counter and your Releem Score.
  • Bug Fix – We've resolved a bug where the Releem Agent might display error messages originating from the Releem Platform when dealing with MySQL configurations.
  • Optimized Query Cache Settings – For those using shared hosting databases, we've fine-tuned the query cache settings to prevent performance degradation.

Updates to Releem Agent

We've been hard at work fine-tuning Releem Agent, and we're excited to share some updates that we believe will make a real difference for you:

  • Automated Updates for Docker Containers – We've introduced automated updates for Releem Agents installed in Docker containers to make your life easier. For a step-by-step guide on how to get started, please visit our documentation.
  • Bug Fix for Sphinx Engine – We've resolved a specific issue that affected databases using the Sphinx engine. For more details, you can check out the GitHub issue here.
